We would then arrange for Alan or Phil to pop out and carry out a survey or property to provide you with a quote. We provide fixed price quotes and not estimates. This means that there is no suprises for you the customer down the line, like with some companies!
Once we have provided you with a quote and you are happy with it we will arrange a date for your house clearance to be carried out. We normally arrive at 9am and most house clearances are completed in one day. Although, we have done some huge properties that have took us a week! Once everything is loaded onto the vans we will either dispose of the items or recycle them. We often take items to local charities.
Many believe that disposing of items in a house clearance will be cheaper than a straight removal from A to B. That generally isnt the truth unfortunately.The reason being that there is signifcant costs involved in the disposal. House clearance waste is considered as commercial waste and cannot be disposed at local coucil recycling centres. House clearance companies have to use private disposal sites which have a significant charge. This charge is calculated on a weight basis with extra charges for items such as fridges, couches and mattresses. For example, a private site will charge around £100 to dispose of one 3 seater couch whilst your local council charge £10 for three of these items. We work with you to try and bring the over all price down. For example, one of our customers had a large number of mattresses to dispose of that would have cost a lot of money buy suggesting they list it for free on a local facebook selling group. This resulted in the customer saving around £500.
